Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the questions we hear most. Don't see yours? Email hai@kobah.app.
Does Kobah connect to my bank?
No. Kobah deliberately does not use Plaid or any other bank aggregator. You enter your holdings manually, and we pull live market prices to value them. We never see your bank credentials, and we never will.
Which currencies does Kobah support?
164 currencies, using live European Central Bank rates via Frankfurter. AED, AUD, EUR, GBP, SGD, USD, and every other currency the ECB publishes are first-class supported.
What stock exchanges does Kobah cover?
70+ exchanges including NASDAQ, NYSE, LSE (London), ASX (Australia), Euronext, HKEX (Hong Kong), TSX (Toronto), and more. Live prices via Yahoo Finance, refreshed every time you open the app.
Is Kobah free?
Yes. The free tier covers 5 non-cash positions and unlimited cash accounts, with full multi-currency tracking and live prices. A paid Pro tier is in development for users who hold more positions.
Can I use Kobah without an account?
Yes. Anonymous mode stores your portfolio in your browser. Sign up only when you want to sync across devices or back up your data to the cloud.
What asset classes can I track?
Stocks, ETFs, cryptocurrencies, cash accounts, gold, silver, real estate, debt (subtracted from net worth), and any custom manual-value position. Each can be in any supported currency.
How does Kobah handle ASX or LSE stocks?
Native support. Yahoo Finance covers ASX, LSE, Euronext, HKEX, TSX, and other major non-US exchanges. Prices are converted to your chosen display currency in real time.
Does Kobah handle cryptocurrency?
Yes. Major cryptocurrencies are priced via Chainlink on-chain feeds for tamper-resistant, decentralized data. You enter your holdings; we pull live prices.
Is Kobah a Kubera alternative?
Yes, for multi-currency net worth tracking. Kubera costs $199 to $2,499 per year and supports more obscure asset types. Kobah is free, faster to use daily, and built specifically for people whose money lives in multiple currencies.
Is Kobah a Sharesight alternative?
For tracking net worth across currencies, yes. Sharesight is built around Australian tax reporting (CGT and dividend statements for the ATO). Kobah is built around clear daily net worth in any currency, not tax filing. Use both if you need both.
Does Kobah work for Empower / Personal Capital users outside the US?
Empower only supports US bank and brokerage accounts. Kobah works internationally with any holding you enter manually, in any of 164 currencies. No US bank account required.
Is my data safe?
Your data lives in EU-region Postgres (Frankfurt) with row-level security on every user table. We don't sell data, we don't run ads, and we have no third-party trackers beyond privacy-respecting analytics. We can't read your data because of how the database permissions are configured.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Your data is yours. Full export is available in settings, and account deletion permanently removes everything we hold about you.
Does Kobah work in the UAE / Singapore / Australia / UK?
Yes. Kobah is built for users whose money lives in multiple countries. AED, SGD, AUD, GBP, EUR, and every other supported currency are first-class. Most of our users are expats or digital nomads in one of those markets.
What if I find a bug or want a feature?
Email hai@kobah.app. Kobah is built by a solo founder, so you'll hear back personally and quickly. We track every request.
